A watershed-wide water quality assessment is essential to protect our water.

The Council completed the process of compiling and analyzing a variety of data and supporting information to:

  • create a baseline assessment of watershed conditions
  • evaluate existing or potential water quality impacts and causes
  • develop a monitoring strategy to track and evaluate change/progress over time

The Source Water Protection plan was developed for five communities throughout our watershed to protect their current water supply. Its goal is outreach and education, not regulation. Spreading the word of where and how communities get water is the first step in protecting that water.
