Middle Colorado Watershed Council shared its progress on the Rifle Creek Restoration at the 2026 State of the River event, co-hosted with the Colorado River District.

In April 2026, the Middle Colorado Watershed Council completed the Roan Creek Fish Barrier project, a multi-agency-funded effort that protects a rare native fish assemblage—including a unique strain of Colorado River cutthroat trout—while also modernizing irrigation infrastructure to improve water efficiency and delivery for local users.
