Fire & Water Speaker Series Concludes with Cutting-Edge Water Monitoring

On May 2, 2025, the Middle Colorado Watershed Council welcomed 30 attendees to the final event in its 2025 Fire & Water Speaker Series. Held at the Colorado River District headquarters in Glenwood Springs, the event featured an engaging presentation, available here, from Colorado River District's senior water resources engineer Raquel Flinker, along with USGS scientists Cory Williams, Rodney Richards, Mark Henneberg and Jon Gholson.

Following the indoor presentation guests joined the scientists for a field demonstration at Two Rivers Park. Attendees experienced a Next Generation Water Observing System (NGWOS) in action, including live drone-based streamflow measurement and real-time water quality monitoring tools.
